According to the official websites of CILS, CELI, PLIDA and CERT.IT (links checked on 31 October 2026), each body publishes a free sample exam with audio and answer keys. File names are in Italian, as on the official sites; the papers themselves are the real exam format.

How to practise
- Do the sample paper with a timer, using the times in the duration table.
- Listen to each audio file only as many times as the exam allows (the instructions are in the paper).
- Check your answers with the official answer key, where there is one.
- Practise the speaking test aloud: introduce yourself and talk about everyday topics.
The sample papers belong to the exam bodies: download them from their pages, do not copy them elsewhere.
Prepare for the speaking test
The speaking test is the part that worries many people. It helps to talk often with a native-speaker teacher, even online. On italki you choose an Italian teacher, take one-to-one lessons and pay per lesson.
